Planning considerations for coordinators

Session Length:

Larger groups sometimes need to go with the bare-minimum session length, to fit more people in less time with our minimum 10 minute sessions. Ten minutes allows for a good, basic treatment, and these are remembered as a nice group gift. With 12, or 15 minute sessions, technicians can linger longer on sore muscle areas for greater relief. The 20 minute sessions allow for maximum troubleshooting of those stubborn tension areas, wringing-out chronic tightness and raising the bliss-factor! 


Schedule strategy

Depending on the workplace culture, style and/or event type, our deployment can be either informal (step-up-when-ready), or more formal, using a pre-signup schedule. Once we have the timing metrics set for the group’s size and duration, we can offer signup schedule templates for you that account for the appropriate breaks the techs require, given the hours of labor they will be spending. You can post them to use these as is, or incorporate them into a digital scheduler.

Other logistical considerations:

Specific workspace requirements: Each chair massage station requires a 5’ x 6’ footprint. This allows the minimum amount of space for the technician to comfortably move all the way around the participant in the chair. Reflexology stations require a footprint of 7.5’ x 3’ for operations.  


General workspace considerations for setting up massage stations vary.  Overall, these services are designed to be seen and approached and to fit in with other goings-on. We are best placed along rear walls or in quieter corners away from the main foot traffic, so soft music can also be enjoyed. If separate space is required for the massage component, an additional room can be utilized for the services, which the technicians occupy together, rather than be isolated from each other. Chair massage services can be set up in an atrium, a lounge, a cafeteria, very wide hallways, ample conference rooms or even out-of-doors in good weather. 


Other tips: Natural light sources from windows is helpful or small lamps so that florescent lights can be minimized. Small waste baskets on hand are helpful for frequent disposal of face-cradle covers and cleaning wipes. Providing us with copies of a printed schedule to help us understand the flow of participants enables us to support your timing goals.
